Caonach* is the Gaelic word for “Moss”, which describes this hat perfectly, because it is made up of single and double moss stitch. The traditional Aran wool gives the hat flecks of colour which look great with the texture. This hat is perfect for stormy days by the sea or any other occasion when you want to protect your head from the elements.

This hat is the ideal project to knit up quickly with still enough variety to keep it interesting the whole way through.
