This pattern is worked with two strands of Aran weight yarn held together.

Note: On the first row of the bill when you get to the 5 sl sts, that you made on the last row around the base of the hat, work your sts around the sc below the sl sts. (This ads more curve to the bill and is the reason for the sl sts)
