From pattern:

The cap is knit in rounds, using stockinette stitch and, for example, two-ply, plant-dyed yarn which is found in many soft colors. The cap is gathered at the top and is supplied with a big pompon of many different shades of green.

The cap has an inside folded cuff.

The pattern includes a description of using short rows to help the cap fit better in back, and instructions for making a large, two-part pompon which sits flat on the hat.

Charts are provided for optional stranded knitting.

Yarn is not specified. The cuff is to be knit with 2mm needles; if knitting a stranded pattern, that section is to be knit with 3 mm needles.
