Cape Cod Hat
The original Cape Cod Hat was made from hand dyed yarn using foraged plants and berries found in the woods and fields on the Cape. The kits sold out so quickly that we’ve knit versions of the hat in other DK weight yarns so people around the world can make their own version. The pattern is easy enough for an advanced beginner knitter, but complex enough to tempt an advanced knitter.
When completed, the hat will fit an average to large adult. You can adapt the pattern for a child or smaller adult by using smaller needles and a lighter weight yarn.
The pattern calls for 5 colors. The background color will take about 50 grams. The four accent colors take approximately 10-20 grams of yarn. The hat is a great way to use of leftover yarn.
