This unique short cape is constructed by making the back panel first then continuing to the front sections and finishing off with rows of large stitches around the bottom of the cape to add length. The cape is worn around the shoulders with a shoulder opening on each side. The shoulder openings are not designed to be arm holes. You will need stitch markers to do this project as it is important to mark the stitches that start the wavy ribbed rows that shape the front of the cape. Each section of the pattern includes lots of notes to assist.

Skill Level: Experienced

For this pattern, I used 2 hanks of Noro Kiri yarn, color 6 and I used all of the yarn. I recommend having extra on hand.

Finished size: From the top of the neck to the bottom of the cape 17.5 inches or 44.45cm. Across the back from shoulder to shoulder 18 inches or 45.7cm. The finished cape will fit loosely but not oversized. You can make a larger size by extended the number of rows to make the back panel and by increasing the number of finishing rows to add length but this type of change was not tested.
