The Cape May Crescent shawl is great for summer weather. It is light and airy, perfect for a walk on the beach, a swing on the porch or an evening out. It knits up super quick and keeps your interest with 5 different textural patterns and 3 colors that keep changing. While it is written as a 3 color shawl, it can also be made with just one or two colors (see photos). Pattern includes two YouTube videos detailing how to work bind-off and how to block.

Materials:

3 skeins of fingering yarn each 231 yds in 3 different colors or 693 yds of a single color. 3 Skein 150 Kits are available from Fiber Me This in her Etsy shop - https://www.etsy.com/shop/FiberMeThis

My recommendation for a two-colored shawl is to knit the first 9 sections in one color (462 yds) and the last section in a contrasting or coordinating color (231 yds)

Size US 5 - 40 inch circular cable needles or size needed to reach gauge
Marker to mark right side/front of work
Blocking wires and T pins for blocking

Color A: Lightest Color B: Medium Color C: Darkest

Gauge:

12 stitches equals 2 inches of stockinette, measured horizontally, unblocked. It is recommended that you do a quick swatch to make sure your gauge is accurate. If you have less than 12 stitches per inch you’ll want to drop to a size US 4 needle. The pattern is forgiving in that you can eliminate rows if you run short on yarn, but the project will look best in the appropriate gauge. For reference the designer is a fairly tight knitter and used size 5 needles.
