Caponcho ist vorn offen wie ein Cape, aber anstatt eines Verschlusses wird er durch das Halsbündchen wie ein Poncho zusammengehalten. Er ist so lang, dass die Arme bequem drunter passen. Durch Schlitze vorn/seitlich hat man allerdings genügend Bewegungsfreiheit für die Arme.

Verwendet wurde ein 500 g-Knäuel eines Farbverlaufsgarns. Dabei wurde als Kontrastfarbe das andere Ende des Knäuels verstrickt. Alternativ kann man natürlich auch ein Farbverlaufsgarn plus ein zusätzliches Kontrastgarn verwenden. Dann benötigt man etwa 1600 m des Farbverlaufgarns, sowie ca. 300 m des Kontrastgarns.

Länge ca. 66 cm.

Benötigtes Zubehör:

• Rundstricknadeln der Stärke 3,5, Länge mindestens 80 cm.
• Rundstricknadeln der Stärke 3, Länge ca. 60 cm.
• Häkelnadel der Stärke 3 (zum leichteren Aufnehmen der Maschen für den Halsausschnitt)
• 8 Maschenmarkierer.

Caponcho is a mixture of a poncho and a cape. Different to a poncho, it is not closed completely, so for example you can wear a handbag under it and get easy access to it. But you don’t need any fastener, because it is closed by the neckline.
It is long enough to cover your arms to feel really warm and cozy, but a slit on both sides give you free moving space for your arms.

I used a 500g-skein of a gradient yarn of fingering weight and used both ends simultaneously – the first color as the gradient color, the last color as a contrasting color. You can also use ca. 1750 yards (1600 m) of a gradient yarn and 330 yards (300 m) of a contrasting color.

Length of the poncho: ca. 26’’ (66 cm).

Needles:

• Circular knitting needle of size US 4 (3.5mm), length ca. 30‘‘ (80 cm)
• Circular knitting needle of size US 2.5 (3mm), length ca. 24‘‘ (60 cm)
• Crochet hook of size 3mm (to make it easier to knit the neckline sts)
• 8 markers.
