It’s not often that my shawl has a good story. I typically knit my shawls while binge watching a show from the comfort of my couch. This shawl, however, has a story. My friend and sample knitter, Jenni, took it with her on a recent European vacation. Before takeoff on one of her flights, she was informed that knitting needles were not allowed on the plane (I know, the horror!). The shawl went to the cockpit for the flight with the joking promise that the captain would have it complete by the end of the flight!

Materials

  • 550 yards of DK-weight yarn
  • US Size 6 (4.00 mm) circular needle, 24” or longer, or size needed to obtain gauge
  • 4 stitch markers
  • Blocking supplies

Please note: I recognize that you are allowed to bring knitting needles on a plane. I also recognize that one should comply with the flight crew, even when they are requesting that you have to give them the only thing that makes you sane on a flight. :)
