Capture the Castle Shawlette
The name of this shawlette is inspired by the turret-shaped edging and by an entertaining novel I recently read, called “I Capture the Castle” by Dodie Smith.
It only takes one skein of sock or fingering weight yarn.
The edging is knitted at the same time as the body. Most rows are simple garter stitch, i.e., knit every row. Yarnovers and k2tog are used to increase and decrease, and directions for an optional cable cast-on are described in the instructions.
You can make a larger shawl by using more yarn and doing more repeats, or by using a heavier weight yarn.
I really like the BaaBoo yarn--I highly recommend it! I used the “Galway Bay” color way for the variegated one pictured. But any fingering weight will work beautifully.
The self-striping version is made with one skein of Berroco Sox, color 1453.
Enjoy!
