Capulus Sweater
Description
The Capulus Sweater is a simple raglan sweater featuring a slightly wide, boat-shaped neckline and raglan increases around three stockinette stitches, creating a clear distinction between the sleeves and the body. The sleeves gradually taper towards the wrist. The sweater is knitted top-down, allowing you to adjust the length of both the sleeves and the body. The back neckline is slightly raised with short rows.
Sizes
XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL)
Finished Measurements
Bust circumference: approximately 98 (102) 109 (116) 120 (123) 125 (129) cm.
Sleeve length measured from the underarm: approximately 41 (42) 44 (44) 44 (45) 45 (45) cm.
Body length measured from the center back (CB): approximately 49 (52) 54 (56) 58 (58) 59 (60) cm.
The sweater is designed with a positive ease of 5-15 cm. The model in the picture has a bust measurement of approximately 84 cm and is wearing a size XS with about 14 cm of ease. The recommendation is to aim for a wide ease in the smaller sizes and a narrower ease in the larger sizes.
Materials
200 (200) 300 (300) 300 (400) 400 (400) g of Dansk Pelsuld 8/2 from Hjelholts Uldspinderi (400 m/100 g) held together with 100 (100) 125 (125) 150 (150) 175 (175) g of Soft Silk Mohair from Knitting for Olive (225 m/25 g), Tilia from Filcolana (212 m/25 g), Silk Mohair from Isager yarn (212 m/25 g), Önling No. 10 from Önling (210 m/25 g), or a similar quality yarn.
You can also choose to knit your sweater using 2 or 3 strands of silk mohair. In that case, the specified amount of silk mohair should be doubled or tripled.
The sweater in the photo is knitted with 1 strand of Dansk Pelsuld 8/2 from Hjelholts Uldspinderi in color 30, Chestnut Brown, held together with 1 strand of Tilia from Filcolana in color 325, Coffee.
In addition to yarn, you will need 9 stitch markers.
Recommended Needles
The sweater is knitted in the round in stockinette stitch using a 4.5 mm circular needle (80 cm) with the two strands held together. All ribbing is knitted on a 3.5 mm circular needle (80 cm).
I recommend using the Magic Loop method for knitting the sleeves, the upper part of the yoke, and the ribbing. If you do not use the Magic Loop method, you will also need a 4.5 mm circular needle (40 cm) and a 3.5 mm circular needle (40 cm).
Gauge
18 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm on 4.5 mm needles, knitted in the round in stockinette stitch.
