When I saw Malabrigo’s Caracol, I knew I had to create a one-skein pattern that would show off the beautiful stained glass look of this super bulky thick-and-thin yarn.

Caracol Cowl makes a great gift for someone special (or for yourself) and can be knit up in an evening or a weekend with one skein of Malabrigo Caracol.

Knit in the round from top down, then knit flat for a comfortable and versatile cowl that will look fabulous on any occasion.

The lace panels accentuate the variegation of Caracol and add visual interest to this fun-to-knit accessory. You’ll probably make several!

Note

  • There are no short rows! So no wrap and turns!
  • If you want to use up all your yarn, just add rows to the bottom border, saving 3 times the length of the project for the bind off.
  • This pattern works great with 90 yds of Rasta, too!
  • Wear it like a bandana, or throw one side up on your shoulder! Bunch it up around your neck under a coat or wear the joined side in the front and drape it over your shoulders.
