Caragana is a bottom-up triangle, in the entrelac technique. This pattern is in no way intended to be a tutorial for the technique - some familiarity is assumed.

#4 in the series of entrelac small shawls, Caragana evokes summer on the Canadian Prairies. One of my first memories of August at the lake is walking down the road from the campground to the lake in the shade of the caragana hedges. The spicy smell of the leaves, and the soft popping of the seed pods, the pattering sound of the seeds and pods falling to the ground, are all part of summer in this area. The twig and leaf pattern looks very much like the caragana leaves.

As this is not a fitted garment, gauge is unimportant for this design. It may be made as large or as small as you wish, just be sure to have more yarn on hand if you intend to make it larger than the sample. The sample used approximately 400 yards of fingering weight yarn 100g/437 yards.

Although great care has been taken with the pattern and instructions, I am regrettably only human and thus subject to the odd mistake. If you should find one, please let me know and I will do my best to correct it as quickly as I can.
