Cara's Shamrock
I am inspired in many ways by the humble shamrock… from the legend of St. Patrick using it as a metaphor for the Trinity, to the shape of the leaves looking like tiny joined hearts…to the lovely green color which promises that spring is at hand!
This single shamrock is not very difficult. There is a bit of twisting and turning involved in the pattern, but I have written everything out quite thoroughly and have included several pictures to help you see exactly what should be happening where.
I made the pictured sample in size 10 thread and a 1.5 mm steel hook, but any size yarn or thread with an appropriately sized hook can be used. Finished shamrock in size 10 thread with 1.5 mm steel hook measures just over 1 inch tall.
I hope you like my little shamrock pattern! Love and prayers ~ Cara Louise
I also used this to make a bracelet, which is available at
