Meet pattern #2 in my Shop Samples series: great easy to knit patterns which have proved popular projects at the LYS I was lucky to work at, Soper Creek Yarn in Orono, Ontario.

A great way to dip your toe into chart knitting in the round, this pattern gives you two popular accessories to practice with. The easy 4-stitch chart is worked once on each piece, then you’re done! When you use the yarns recommended in the pattern, you get to treat yourself to the luxury of cashmere as well!

Recommended skill level: Intermediate. Skills include: cast on, knitting in the round (optional Magic Loop) knit, purl, knit 2 together (K2tog) and slip, slip knit (ssk) decreases, changing colours, chart knitting, stranded colour work, cast off

Requires 32” circular needle in 3.75mm/US 5 needle for Magic Loop technique OR 16” and set of double points in same size

Finished size: Hat to fit teen/average adult, Cowl has 20” circumference and 6” depth, blocked
