Ever since my parents saw Jaws on one of their first dates, sharks have had a special place in my family. When I spotted a skein called “Shark Bite” from DJ Fleesh, I knew I had to turn it into a fun pair of shark-themed socks for my mom, and so Carcharodon was born. These toe-up ankle socks feature a simple textured cable pattern reminiscent of shark skin, and a shark tooth edging is knitted on to make the cuff.

Sizes
Instead of traditional sizing, this sock includes instructions for socks with 40 sts, 60 sts, 80 sts, or 100 sts around and guidance on choosing the right stitch count for your desired yarn and foot size.

Yarn
Any sock weight yarn that you’d knit in the range of 28 stitches per 4”/10 cm to 48 stitches per 4”/10 cm

Needles and Tools
Pattern is written for Magic Loop/two circulars.
Needle size of your choice for socks that is suitable for your yarn. Remember that socks should be knit at a denser gauge than is often given on the ball band/tag.

For firmer teeth on the Shark Tooth Cuff, a second needle one or two sizes smaller than the needle used for the main part of the sock.
