Cardamom Mittens
Construction
The mittens are knitted from the cuff. Stitches are cast on with Italian cast on and worked I twisted rib. Increases are made for the thumb, while working the double broken rib pattern. The thumb’s stitches are put to rest while the rest of the mitten is worked. Decreases are made towards the fingertips and the last few stitches are closed off with kitchener stitch. The thumbs is then worked and closed off in the same way.
Gauge
It is important to check the gauge before casting on stitches for your mittens. If the gauge is off the mittens can be significantly smaller or larger than the measurements listed in this pattern. The gauge in double broken rib should be 21 sts and 32 rows in 10 x 10 cm. We achieve this gauge on 3,5 mm needles but find the correct size for you.
