Construction. The cardigan is worked bottom-up back and forth until the armholes. Then the work is divided into two front pieces and a back. After the armholes are worked to the indicated height, a collar is created for the coat, or a neckline edge for the regular cardigan. Finally, sleeves, a belt, and pockets are knitted. The cardigan has a loose fit with straight, wide sleeves.

Original yarn. Brown cardigan-coat: Drops baby merino (100% merino wool, 50g/175m, Color 17) in two threads + Drops brushed alpaca silk (77% alpaca, 23% silk, 25g/140m, Color 5) in 2 threads. Milk cardigan: Drops alpaca boucle (80% alpaca, 15% wool, 5% polyamide, 50g/140m, Color 0100) in 2 threads. If you’re knitting a cardigan-coat (not a regular cardigan) from Drops Alpaca Boucle yarn, it’s better to use 3 strands.

Alternative yarn. Wool, wool blend, merino wool, boucle, “grass”, mohair, alpaca yarns with appropriate yardage.
Estimated yarn amount. The knee-length cardigan-coat in size XS/M, L/XL, 2XL/3XL requires (skeins merino wool + skeins alpaca yarn) – 1200g (16 + 17), 1450g (19 + 20), 1650g (22 + 24) respectively.

Needles. 8mm (100cm and 40 cm circular needles); additionally - 6/7/7,5 mm (100cm and 40cm circular needles).
