The main yarn used is mohair, which is brushed each time the garment is washed and dried.

A contrast DK yarn (in the photo it is the same colour as the mohair) is used to knit the ribbing, with a second colour of DK used to cast off the front and neck edge. This second contrast yarn and a third contrast are used to make the flower and leaves.

Once the leaves and petals are sewn in place, a length of ribbon, forming a rosette, is sewn onto the middle of the flower.
