Cardigan Aran has an unshaped silhouette and a positive ease about 1-1.6’’ (2-4 cm). It features a beautiful Aran panel on the back and cable stitch pattern on the fronts. The cardigan is worked top down in one piece. The neckline and fronts are finished with ribbing 2x2 and Stockinette st rolled hem.

Sizes:
Bust circumference: S (35.5 - 37.8’’ (90 - 96 cm)) / M (38 - 39’’ (97 - 100 cm))/ L (39.8 - 41’’ (101 - 104 cm))/ XL (41.3 - 42.5’’ (105 - 108 cm))/ 2XL (43 - 44’’ (109 - 112 cm))/3XL (45 – 47” (116 - 120 cm)).

Yarn recommendations:
Sport or Fingering weight (330-437 yds/3.5 oz (300-400 m/100 g))
Yardage: 1640 - 2077 yds (1500 - 1900 m).
Choose a yarn that holds cables well.

For the sample, I used Holst Garn Coast (55% merino, 45% cotton, 383 yards/1.76 ounces (350 m/50 g), worked in two strands.
Total yarn length: 382 yds/3.5 oz (350 m/100 g).
Yardage: about 1720 yds (1575 m).

Needles: US 4 (3.5 mm) needles, 32” or 40” US 2 ½ (3.0 mm) circular needles for neckline and fronts.
Other: 6 stitch markers, cable needle, 2 stitch holders, crochet hook, waste yarn, 4 buttons.

Knitting skills: basic knitting skills, cable knitting, Aran knitting, increasing, picking up sts, German Short rows, crochet chain.

Pattern instruction is written and charted.

Материалы:
Пряжа: 1500 - 1900 м, толщиной 300 - 400м/100г.
Выбирайте пряжу, которая хорошо держит араны.

Я использовала пряжу Coast от HolstGarn (55% меринос, 45% хлопок), 350м/50г в два сложения, то есть метраж 350м/100г
Расход - чуть больше 400г.

Спицы №3.5, круговые спицы №3 длиной 80 см или 100 см для отделки горловины и полочек.
Маркеры (5 шт.) для обозначения регланных линий и два маркера для укороченных рядов, пуговицы, крючок, петледержатели (2 шт.).
