Caregiver
Thank you to all the knitters who have given me their support, kindness and friendship during my designing career. This pattern is on sale for $1 - it is my 100th pattern on Ravelry.
This is a classic sock pattern knit with larger than normal needles for socks. A size US 2 is used for these “slipper socks”- meant to be worn around the house (possible over a pair of skinny socks) for an extra layer of warmth. The socks start with a knitted in hem - which is why a crochet hook and waste yarn are called for in the directions. I have given detailed instructions on how to do the hem along with a link for more information.
We have all taken care of someone - maybe a parent, a child, a spouse or a friend. The caregiver sometimes goes for days, weeks, months or perhaps years giving their time, energy and love to help someone else feel better.
These slipper socks are for Caregivers - probably each and every one of the knitters reading this is a caregiver and has their own story. I hope these socks will give your feet some warmth and put a smile on your face.
Take time for yourself - Pick up some beautiful hand dyed fingering weight yarn, US 2 DPN’s and make yourself a pair of hemmed socks.
Enjoy!
