ABOUT: The Carina Collar is a detachable collar with ruffles and i-cord ties. It’s worked flat, starting with the back panel, then the front parts are picked up from the shoulders and shaped with increases and decreases to create a pointy look. The ruffles are created with a lighter weight yarn by picking up stitches along the edges of the collar and increasing on the first RS row, then bind off with a crochet hook. The i-cord ties are attached to the corners of the neckline and worked across the neck opening.

NEEDLES: 4 mm circular needles (or other needle sizes to get gauge), 3,5 mm circular needles, and 3,5 mm double-pointed needles.

GAUGE: 18 sts X 24 rows (10x10 cm | 4x4 inches) in stockinette with 4 mm needles (or other needle sizes to get gauge) after blocking. is this gauge for both dk and fingering yarn?

MATERIALS: 100 g of Drops Cotton Merino + 25 g of Hobbii Diablo or 100 g of The yarn lovers Very Fine Wool (two strands held together).

Yarn combinations: You can choose to use one strand of DK or two strands of fingering held together for the main parts of the collar and one strand of fingering or one strand of mohair for the ruffles.
