Carmilla’s Castle hat pattern has been updated!  It now includes the print and digital files that I’m making for every pattern.  A new feature I’ve added is a table of contents with links to quickly get to each part of the pattern.

While editing the cable stitch pattern for the crown decreases, I realized that it was reminding me of a castle. Carmilla is the villain from one of my favorite anime movies, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. The “spires” of this hat remind me of her spaceship castle. Use any DK weight yarn with good stitch definition and good stitch memory. I’ve chosen Malabrigo Arroyo (listed as both a sport and a DK) in a colorway that reminded me of stone.

The pattern features 1x1 cables and traveling stitches with the crown decreases hidden inside the cables.  This is a more advanced pattern that requires moving the beginning of round stitch marker on several rounds. Written instructions and charts are included. I recommend having a look at both before starting.
