Carnegie Cabled Mitts
Experienced
7 1/2” circumference (unstretched) x 10” long. Fabric has a lot of stretch so should fit a wide range of sizes.
Mitts are knit top-down from the fingers to the cuff, which makes it easy to customize the length.
Pattern includes both text and chart for cable panel.
The small town I live in has a legit Carnegie Hall, i.e., Andrew Carnegie provided the money for the original construction back in 1902. These days it provides robust cultural and educational programs for our area.
The director of education asked me to teach a knitting class for the Fall 2016 session. She said it would be great if I could tie the project into the Scottish music performance schedule for around the same time. Cabled mitts seemed an appropriate choice.
One skein project. As written, you should have leftover yarn. If you want to make them longer or wider, divide your yarn in half before starting.
