Project Description: These wonderfully warm, thick and stretchy mittens feature baby cable ribbing on the long cuffs. The stitch pattern on the hand and thumb is called ‘Ringwood’ after the town of Ringwood, Hampshire, UK, in which Victorian gloves were hand knit by the residents using this stitch pattern and sold commercially until the mid-20th century. The waffle-like texture is interesting visually and makes a nice thick, warm mitten!
