Carol's Vest
I designed this vest to use yarn from a small mill in Northern Ontario. However, lopi-style yarn works great, as do other chunky yarns, especially ones with little twist.
This is a simple vest that knits up quickly. I initially designed it for myself, but when I made one for my massage therapist, Carol, it looked so good on her I had to name it after her! Carol is a former Commonwealth Games athlete and is not a small woman. She is modelling the XL size, but the vest looks great on my smaller friends too.
One design feature I learned from my British mother-in-law was to make the fronts 1” longer than the backs, so the shoulder seam sits a little towards the back. This makes the back neck shaping easier and contributes to a nicer fit.
