Carousel: A Recipe for a Sweater
Pattern retired. May be be relaunched someday after upgrades.
This pullover sweater is designed to be more of a guide than a pattern for specific sizes. Because it’s made top-down, the creator can try this on as they go at the adjustment points. Instructions for increases and where to place them are given. The stitch pattern alternates every three rows for visual interest, so this would also look lovely in a solid color yarn. The stitch is extremely stretchy, much like knitting. It will conform to many body types, including women, men, and children.
Yarn weight, yardage, and hook size will vary depending on size chosen.
Yardage estimates and hook sizes:
• For baby/todder sizes, approx. 400 yards of lightweight #2 yarn and 3.5 mm E hook
• For children’s sizes, approx. 650 yards of sportweight #3 yarn and 4.5 mm G hook
• For smaller adult sizes, approx. 900 yards of worsted weight #4 yarn and 5.5 mm I hook
• For larger adult sizes, approx. 1400 yards of worsted weight #4 yarn and 5.5 mm I hook
