The Carousel Hat is a slightly slouchy hat with a swirly crown, in sizes for all the family. It features vertical stripes of varying lengths and a textured brim that is simple to knit but has a striking effect.

This hat is knitted in the round and requires some basic knowledge of two-colour work, but is not a difficult hat to knit. Suitable for intermediate knitters who are keen to try two-colour knitting.

The pattern includes five different sizes. As it is a slightly slouchy hat it uses needles that are larger than you would expect for that weight of yarn. This is intentional and should help with achieving the ‘slouch’, especially if you keep the float tension loose.

All sizes require one skein (or less) of each of the two colours – roughly between 75–120m of each colour depending on your size and the type of yarn.
