Carrageen
With a one-piece construction and a simple steek, this cardigan is a fun pattern for learning new techniques. The asymmetric fastening and top down set-in sleeves create a simple elegant finish.
Worked in the round from the bottom up the delicate seaweed ribbing flows up the front panel. The opening is created after knitting by steeking. This was my first steeked project so don’t let it scare you if you haven’t tried it before. The steek used in this cardigan was a crochet steek which is remarkably easy to work even for a non-crocheter like me! Sleeve are worked after the body from the top down using short row sleeve cap shaping and are finished in the round.
