This modern-looking, easy, mitered square blanket can be worked as separate blocks and sewn, or worked as one-piece by picking up sts for the next block on the edges of previously completed blocks. The blanket is worked in garter stitch, and border is added after assembly.

The blanket instructions call for DK weight yarn and the blanket is four blocks wide by 5 blocks long for a finished size of 34.5” x 42.5” (88 x 108 cm). To make the blanket 5 blocks wide by 6 blocks long, increase yardage by 50%. To make the 4 x 5 block blanket in worsted yarn, decrease yardage by 5%.

Needles: U.S. Size 6 (4 mm) circular needles of length 40” (100cm), or size to obtain gauge. Circular needles are needed for the border, but straights or circulars may be used for squares.

Notions: Tapestry needle, stitch marker, 3.5 mm crochet hook, if desired for weaving in ends and picking up stitches
