I love things that can be worn in many different ways and the Cas Shawl (Irish for “twist”, which is the yarn I used!) definitely can!

I created Cas because I wanted a shawl that would look elegant and cosy, something I could wear with coats or over dresses, a versatile, everyday shawl!

This beautifully patterned Cas shawl can be worn with the textured side down to form a shawl-collared effect using the ribbed edge, or with the textured side up to form a more traditional style shawl.

Cas is worked flat, sideways, in one piece, with increases between the texture patterns and the rib effect edge. The ribbed effect edge is a combination of knit and purl rows and the textured patterns are variations on a 2X2 rib, and the changes in textures make this a more fun, interesting knit.

Using 1 X 100g skein of S Twist Wools Single Ply Sock Yarn, which is 100% Irish Wool, and 4mm needles.

S Twist Wools Single Ply Sock Yarn comes in a variety of gorgeous colours and shows up the textures and patterns really elegantly.

The blocked measurements are 111cm along the textured straight edge and 40cm at the widest centre point.
