Cascade
“Cascade” dress by Woolly Hooligan
I have always wanted to design a dress, and finally this scrumptious, soft and delicate yarn fell into my hands. This knits up like butter, sliding trough fingers beautifully. I hope I did this yarn a service and respect.
I love this fiber, however, I feel any alpaca in a natural color would do just fine.
I chose simplicity but elegance. This soft and hypoallergenic fiber is great on skin and drapes you to accentuate female body.
Hope you enjoy this knit. The cables are simple and intuitive. The count is as easy as I could create, so this deceptively becomes a simple project , that many will admire. I suggest marking each increase and decrease with a marker, makes it easier to keep track.
Gauge 24 st/36 rows in 4 in 10 cm on a size 7 needles in a blocked garter swatch
Yarn used: Rowan Alpaca/Merino mix 13(13,14,14,15) balls (150yards per ball)
Any alpaca yarn would work as long as you achieve gauge
I enjoyed working with this Rowan yarn as it flexes well and the chained construction makes it light and airy, also has great bounce.
Fit no ease or slight negative ease, this yarn flexes well. Best if its a bit body hugging around the hip area… and waist/bust
See schematics for sizing, can be easily altered and modified to suit your body. Modifications are hinted through out the pattern.
Smallest size is provided before parenthesis and the larger sizes in parenthesis consecutively.

Notes about construction: Worked bottom up in the round, with hip increases, waist shaping and bust shaping, then stitches are bound off for the arm pit area, back stitches put on spare yarn to be worked later, continuing working the front finishing the arm shaping and shoulder shaping with short rows, back stitches are worked, then front shoulder and back shoulder are connected by a 3 needle bind off.
