Inspiration:

YARN, yes, it’s a beauty.

Soft, fluffy, snowy dream. Winter wonderland at its finest.
Knitting it, is like a fairy pixie dust sprinkling. I am not kidding; I love this yarn so much.

It had so much flex and give, its perfect on the hands. I can’t get enough. I knitted the Cascade dress a while back, and with my recent Rowan Vogue success I needed a shawl to go with. I will admit I am not a shawl person; I never know how to wear it. It just does not look good worn casually as it usually does in a photo shoot.

Well, this one is different. Knitted as a circular yoke flat, shaped to flatter the body contour.…its construction allows it to sit on the body like this all the time. Isn’t it glamorous??? I think so, lol.

Needles: size 7 US, 4.5 mm circulars work best with a 24-inch cable for cabled section, 36-inch cable for stockinette section.

Other needles: cable needle or 1 dpn, darning needle for weaving in ends.

Gauge: 2o st/ 34 rows in a 10 cm/ 4-inch swatch, blocked I knitted in plain stockinette stitch.

Yarn: Rowan Alpaca/ Merino
Amount: 130 grams, about 5.5 balls, (each ball is 25 grams), about 550 meters or 600 yards.
Unfortunately, I think this yarn is getting discontinued, there is still a fair amount left at wool warehouse, link below:
https://www.woolwarehouse.co.uk/yarn/rowan-alpaca-merino-...
or yarn substitutions at link:
https://yarnsub.com/yarns/rowan/alpaca_merino
There are a lot of alternatives. Features to look for, chained construction, alpaca and wool merino mix.

Skills needed:
• Cable chart reading is recommended, although the cables are written out row by row
• German short rows
• Picking up stitches along edge
• Seaming (optional)
• Weaving in ends

Fit: one size fits most, alterations noted in pattern if wider neck is desired.
