Cascading Snowflakes Shawl
Gorgeously-detailed snowflakes dance across this Cascading Snowflakes shawl to add elegance to your outfit! A choice of a lacy or picot border can be added, as well as tassels, if desired!
This design is created using a hybrid of corner-to-corner and filet crochet techniques. You can learn this C2C-filet hybrid technique on my YouTube Channel.

Materials:
- Cotton/acrylic sport weight cake yarn (800 yds.) and a size 4/0 (2.50 mm) crochet hook were used for the small shawl model, with a gauge of 8 x 8 grid = 4”.
- Acrylic fine weight yarn (1100 yds.) and a size 2/0 (2.00 mm) crochet hook were used for the medium shawl model with a gauge of 9 x 9 grid = 4”.
- Crochet cotton - size 10 (1450 yds.), and a size No. 4 (1.25 mm) crochet hook were used for the large shawl model with a gauge of 10 x 10 grid = 4”.
Finished Sizes:
Measurements given are for the models as shown using the yarn weights listed. Many additional sizes can be achieved by changing the number of rows made as well as using different yarns.
Small: 68″ top width; 34″ center length
Medium: 75-1/2″ top width; 37-3/4″ center length
Large: 82″ top width; 41″ center length
This pattern is written in standard U.S. terms.
