Caspian Hat
by Jane Ellison
For this pattern I used:
YARN & AMOUNTS
Two 50g balls of Knoll Kilcarra Tweed (100% Pure New Wool, 80m/87yds per 50g).
I used shade 4582 Fintown.
METRES/YARDAGE
150m/174yds.
NEEDLES
4mm and 5mm.
TENSION/GAUGE
18 stitches and 24 rows to 10cm square over rib pattern when using 5mm needles.
SIZE
To fit an average size head.
MY DESIGN IDEAS AND ADVICE
I designed this one for the boys, and once again it came back from my knitter and I wanted one! This straightforward pattern has no complicated abbreviations or tricky techniques. I designed it to be floppy but if you prefer the hat to be more like a beanie then you can simply knit it to a shorter length.
