This simple and versatile lace wrap is a pretty addition to an autumn wardrobe. Designed as a cross between a shawl and a shrug, it can be tied at the back or front – or worn loose. It would look great worn as a shrug over a dress, or the high collar means it could be worn instead of a scarf under a coat.
The lace pattern is simple to work, and the pattern contains written instructions and a chart.

Knitted in a wool laceweight yarn and a simple lace stitch, the garment is wonderfully stretchy.
For this reason the pattern is written in two sizes, each size covering 4 sizes.
The smaller size took a fraction under 2 balls of yarn, and on 4mm needles it is a quick knit.

Pattern notes
The wrap is knitted sideways in 2 pieces on straight needles. Each piece is knitted from cuff to centre back, where the stitches are divided, with the front stitches then decreasing to form the long wrapped ties. To finish, the back seam is sewn to join the 2 pieces together.
All shaping is clearly shown in the charts and written instructions.

Measurements
The wrap measures 29 (35.5)cm from cuff to centre back, 33 (43) cm across back hem, and is 34 (39.5)cm long, from shoulder to bottom hem.
It takes 780 (1170) metres of laceweight yarn.
