Knitting pattern for CASTANEA, a lady’s cotton jumper.
Castanea is beautiful and sporty in a lovely style for needles no 3 mm – a classic design. The model is suitable for jeans as well as for a skirt.
The pattern is a simple striped pattern in stocking stitches (plain knitting). The jumper is not difficult to make but good fun – just to follow the exact and well explained written pattern with chart for welt, cuffs and neck band. The sleeves are set-in sleeves. It takes a bit of accuratesse to make up the model.
Difficulty of execution measured from 1 (beginner) to 5 (advanged): 3-4.

Bottom width: 86 - 94 - 108 - 123 - 135 cm (in: 33¾ - 37 - 42½ - 48½ - 53)
Length: 58 – 59 – 61 – 64 – 66 cm (in: 22¾ - 23¼ - 24 - 25¼ - 26)
The yarn used: our ALCAMO - COTONE CABLE, 100 % mercerized Egyptian cotton, 2 – 2 – 3 – 3 – 4 balls of col. A, 2 – 2 – 2 – 2 – 3 balls of col. B, 25 meters (30 yds) each col. C, D and E. 1 ball = 100 g - 250 meters (3½ oz - yardage: 77 yds per oz).
The cotton is produced by Campolmi Filati in Firenze (Florence), Italy.
The cotton fibres are imported directly from Egypt and the yarn is manufactured and dyed in Italy according to the proper EU regulations and with all due respect of the nature and environment. The yarn has CEE certification.
Needles: no 2 ½ mm and 3 mm.
Tension/gauge in pattern: 23 sts on needles no 3 mm = 10 cm (4 in).
