Castle Peak combines mosaic diamonds with dotted stripes and pebbly texture for a shawl that’s fun to make and to wear. This shawl has an asymmetrical triangular shape. It begins with a few stitches and is worked on the bias to grow toward the opposite edge. Stripes of color divide two sections of mosaic diamonds from bands of garter stitch dashes and plain stockinette. Both sizes begin and end with the same patterning, but differ in the arrangement of the middle section.
This pattern uses mosaic knitting to create its colorful patterns. Mosaic knitting uses only one color of yarn at a time and alternates colors every two rows.
Gauge is not critical for this pattern, but using a different weight yarn or needle size will affect the size of the finished shawl.
