You can choose either a plain cat or a cat with a contrast face and feet, designed in a Waldorf style it is easy to knit using simple techniques and minimal materials with a photo step by step tutorial. The cat can also be easily made into a rattle.
The pattern is available for instant download in English. The finished cat is 8cm in height and 7cm long.
Skills required:
Cast on, knit stitch, knit 2 stitches together, inc (kfb), i-cord, cast off, simple embroidery
Materials used:
— 2.75mm needles
— 2.75mm dpn needles (for the tail)
— Scissors
— A darning needle
— 25g of 8ply cotton or wool in body colour
— Optional: Small amount of contrast colour wool for face and feet
— Black embroidery thread for eyes
— Optional: Contrast embroidery thread for extra ear and nose detail
— Stuffing (I like to avoid polyester and use pure wool or cotton stuffing)
— Optional: rattle piece if making a baby rattle
The body of the cat is knitted in one piece and the head and tail are knitted separately and sewn on at the end.
