This is another commuter trip inspired beanie.
In the mornings (6 a.m.) you can see the farm cats on their field mouse hunt.

Sometimes they are just sitting in the meadows or ready to take a jump at something….
Whether they are successful or not, whether the mouse escapes is up to you and your imagination :)

The beanie is completely knitted in two colors of 4-ply sock yarn (about 35 g of each color will be enough). I chose black and beige as I love black cats and the beige underlines the the field/countryside theme and as I liked the field mice to be in brown. You can also knit it in other colors.
I think a white cat and a grey or dark brown mouse would also look great.

You can also use Acrylic or Merino yarn of similar weight or a bit thicker.

It has a two-color (= corrugated) ribbing followed by different bands of cats and field mice.
The cats being in their typical “in field” positions - I have seen.

As a special surprise there are two top versions. As I just couldn’t decide which one to use in the hat - I leave it up to you :)
An easier to knit one with the sitting cat at the top and a more difficult crown version with a jumping cat. Both versions are clearly described in detail and charts.

Only one can be seen in the picture.
The other one is a jumping cat.

Note: For bigger heads you can use 5-ply yarn (e.g. one similar to Buttinette Merino Madeleine) or/and go up one needle size.

As it’s only two colors throughout the whole project it is also suitable for stranded knitting beginners.

Und wieder eine Mütze, die ihr meinen morgendlichen Busfahrten zur Arbeit zu verdanken habt ;-)
Um 6 Uhr früh sieht man die Katzen schon in den Feldern und Wiesen herumstreichen. Manchmal sitzen sie nur im Gras. Manchmal sind sie bereit zum Sprung.
Ob die Feldmäuse schneller und schlauer sind, überlasse ich Eurer Fantasie.

Die Mütze ist komplett in 4-fach Sockengarn in schwarz und beige gestrickt. Sieht aber auch in anderen Farben gut aus.
Für größere Größen verwendet einfach etwas dickeres Garn (z.B. 5-fach Buttinette Madeleine Merino) und/oder etwas dickere Nadeln.

Sie hat einen zweifarbigen Bund, gefolgt von verschiedenen Katzen und Feldmausbordüren.
Bei der Mützenoberseite habt Ihr zwei Varianten zur Auswahl, weil ich mich nicht für eine entscheiden konnte und wollte :)
Eine sitzende Katze (die seht Ihr auch im Bild) und eine springende Katze (nicht im Bild).
Die sitzende Katze ist eine einfachere Abnahmevariante, die springende etwas schwieriger zu stricken.

Ihr könnt die Mütze auch in Acrylgarn oder Merinogarn ähnlicher Stärke stricken. Ihr braucht ca. 35 g pro Farbe.
