Cat Project Bag
ERRATA of the wrong stitch count: R13 should be: p4, k3, p1, k11, p1, msp, p1, k11, p1, k3, p4
A note for those who have decided to make a row of moss stitch before R1:
If that’s the case, you might notice that the wrong side of R1 won’t match up with your moss stitch pattern, but that’s ok, because moss stitch is functional either way. Just knit the way you see it (purl the knits and knit the purls) for 5 stitches, place marker and continue the straight section, place another marker, work the moss stitch as you come to it and proceed like that in the same manner. AGAIN, DON’T INCREASE THE STITCHES, there’s no need for that!
**The KAL begins on April 26th and ends on May 12th!**
April 19th A KAL for this pouch will be held in a One Skein Project group, as soon as there are more people who’d want to join. I’ll keep you posted
This pattern is a tribute to my orange tabby, a rescue cat who walked into my life about two years ago and means the world to me.
The pattern itself is very open to changes, feel free to experiment with the design placement or the size of the needles and the weight of the yarn. My yarn is a 50/50 acrylic/wool blend. The gauge is based on my knitting tension but the size of the bag varies.
The charts for both sides are included and written out in the pattern, row by row, and there is a photo tutorial on the assembly of the bag once you bind off.
The cat part has 36 rows. I’ve knit 4.5” after the cat pattern but before the ribbing, and I still have about ten grams left, so you can plan your own placement based on that.
If there are errors, please let me know.
