Cat Tracks Cap
A simple watch cap to warm you on cold days at the loom and beyond.
The Cat Tracks Cap is inspired by weaving and natural dye classes at The Little Loomhouse in Louisville, Kentucky, a weaving education center and workshop since 1939. Frank Lloyd Wright described The Little Loomhouse as “three board and batten cabins set in the dignity of nature under the mighty oaks of Kenwood Hill.” At the Loomhouse, the sun filters through the trees to create dappled light that sparks creative magic.
Worked from the bottom up, the Cat Tracks Cap features a folded brim for classic watch cap style. The stranded colorwork motif is inspired by the Cat Tracks weaving draft, a design used in Kentucky coverlets for hundreds of years. The crocheted top loop is a nod to the oak trees that surround The Little Loomhouse cabins, as a reminder that they started as tiny acorns.
