Catch and Release was knit while on our family vacation “Up North” in the summer of 2014.

Some of my favorite memories of these cabin getaways are the early evenings up on the wooden porch that overlooks the lake.

Sprawled out before me, the lake, who hours earlier was crowded with fishing boats, jet skis and water enthusiasts, is now still as glass; a fiery orange reflection of the setting sun.

Loons call to each other through the quiet; their voices traveling….lingering….

My husband is out on the pier with my girls, helping to reel in the pan fish they have caught. The girls squeal and wave a farewell each time he tosses back their catch with a splash that breaks the silence, but not the magic.

This cardigan was the perfect knit for these of evenings. Simplistic texture and large needles ensured relaxation and a finished project by the end of the week; something to take with me to remember the trip and those moments ….always.
