Catch A Crescent Moon
This is a simple pattern for quick-project moon crescent. It is designed to be beginner-friendly and takes a little over an hour to complete. This project calls for basic knitting technique, with simple increases, decreases, and short rows. Basic embroidery technique is necessary to create facial features. The pattern is written for knitting flat. The finished object measures about 5.5” in length when completed using the listed notions and materials. Bonus directions included for option with nightcap.
NOTIONS:
Pair US 6 / 4.00 mm knitting needles
Embroidery needle
MATERIALS:
10g Heavy Worsted (Main Color)
Small Amt. Embroidery Thread (Black & Grey)
Quality Toy Stuffing (Wool or Poly-fill)
GAUGE:
Different size needles and yarn can be substituted. Gauge is not important for this project so long as the yarn is heavier than recommended for the size of your chosen needles.
SKILLS:
Basic knitting technique, along with casting on, casting off, simple increases, decreases, and seaming. Two of the rows call for wrapping and turning. Embroidery techniques include chain and back stitches.
