Catch of the Day Wall Hanging
Pattern Notes
Just as fishing nets are designed to catch fish, this wall hanging is designed to display and organize your knitting needles and tools. The holes produced by simple yarn overs placed throughout the waves give you the freedom to use this wall hanging to meet your unique crafting needs or to use as a simple wall hanging.
This macrame inspired wall hanging is beautiful enough to use as a wall hanging but is also uniquely designed to serve as a knitting needle hanger. The holes from the yarn overs are plentiful and placed throughout the design to provide you with the ability to store several knitting needles.
This is the perfect project to use some stash or a special souvenir skein of yarn, since it only requires a small amount of yarn. Look for a worsted weight wool, linen, or cotton, possibly with some texture. Choose a solid or heather yarn to show off the highly textured pattern of the stitches.
Select an heirloom knitting needle that was used by your grandmother, a piece of driftwood from a special beach, a beautiful piece of wrought iron, or a simple dowel to support your wall hanging for a personal touch.
Add some pizzaz to it with some fringe on the bottom or tassels on the top corners to dress it up and show off your unique style. These options will require additional yarn.
Construction Notes
This is worked from the bottom up and finished with an I-cord BO for stability.

Though gauge isn’t crucial for fit, keep in mind that this is designed with a tighter gauge than usual to create a denser fabric. Any changes could cause your needle holder to stretch with the weight of the needles.

This can be made as long or as short as you desire. Keep in mind that any changes will affect the amount of yarn required.
