Catching Fire Cowl
This is an easy and quick cowl based on the one worn by Katniss in “The Hunger Games”. It is knit in one piece using a simple two row repeat, a small section of short rows. This pattern is knit flat to make the front and back and joined for knitting in the round for the cowl portion. This is a great project for advanced beginning knitters. I have also used some basic crochet techniques for the edging, which is optional. There are links to tutorials provided.
I used two skeins of super bulky yarn and size 13 needles. Total knitting time for me was around 3 hours. If you would like to adjust size, you can either go up or down in needle size, yarn weight or both.
