Der Catelyn Cardigan ist ein typischer Cardigan mit Raglanlinien, der nahtlos von oben nach unten gestrickt wird – ein klassischer RVO (Raglan von oben).
Er beginnt mit einem schönen Bündchenmuster, das bequem ohne Zopfnadel verzopft wird. Mittels einiger verkürzter Reihen wird der Halsausschnitt geformt. Hierzu wird die German Short Rows Technik angewandt.
Eine dieser Zopflinien des Bündchenmusters geht jeweils in eine Raglanlinie über. Die Blende des Cardigans wird ebenfalls mit diesen Verzopfungen gestrickt und sie wird offen getragen.
Nach den Raglanzunahmen werden die Ärmel abgetrennt und der Rumpf weitergearbeitet. Dabei werden Maschen aufgenommen und einige Zopflinien laufen entlang der Seiten bis zum Bund, welcher wieder wie beim Halsbündchen mit den Verzopfungen endet. Die Ärmel werden mit regelmäßigen Abnahmen zum Bündchen hin schmaler – besonders schön wirkt das enge Bündchen, weil es offene Kanten hat und so eine Bluse oder ein Armkettchen sehr schön zur Geltung kommt.

Maschenprobe 22 Ma x 28 R glatt rechts auf Nadel 3,5 = 10x10 cm NACH dem Waschen und Spannen. Falls deine Maschenprobe nicht passt, probiere eine andere Nadelstärke. Wenn du die Longversion planst, empfehle ich dir am Ende unbedingt das Spannen nach dem Waschen, damit sich der Cardigan im getragenen Zustand nicht aushängt!

Catelyn Cardigan is a classic raglan cardigan that is worked seamlessly top down.
First, a pretty rib pattern is worked, which can easily be done without a cable needle. The neckline is shaped with short rows. Here, I have used the German short row technique.
One of cable lines of the ribbing merges into the raglan. The facings are also worked with these cables and the cardigan is worn open.
Once the raglan increases are finished, the yoke is divided into sleeves and body. For the body, additional stitches are picked up and some cable lines run along the sides down to the hem, which is worked with the same ribbing in cable pattern as at the neckline. The sleeves become slimmer with regular decreases towards the cuffs – the tight cuffs are particularly attractive because they have open edges, making a blouse or bracelet stand out beautifully.

This pattern contains 3 lengths: the normal length, the long version and the cropped version. You can also decide whether you want to knit the sleeves long or just to the elbow.
As the Catelyn Cardigan is worked top down, you can try it on at any time to find the right length for you.

Gauge 22 stitches x 28 rows in stockinette stitch on needle 3,5 mm = 10x10 cm
AFTER washing and blocking. If your gauge swatch is incorrect, change the needle size. If you plan on knitting the long version, I absolutely recommend blocking the cardigan after washing to prevent it from stretching out when worn!
