“Without striving, I allow myself to relax into who I am and who I am to become.”

This design, Caterpillar Pose Shawl, follows the life of this beautiful creature from egg to small caterpillar to large caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly, and ends with the edge of a butterfly’s wing. Feel free to vary the order of designs. I was inspired to create this shawl for those enduring a difficult situation or traumatic event - there is hope! You will emerge from the cocoon transformed into a beautiful butterfly - take flight!

Welcome to Stacey Namaste Designs. This shawl is part of my Knitting for Healing series. Trauma can be defined as “Anything that overwhelms our capacity to cope and leaves us feeling hopeless and helpless,” ~Seane Corn, Yogi and Author. This series was inspired in order to provide choice and control for the maker in size, color scheme, design, and patterning. I hope you have fun, and every time you sit to knit this pattern, you can create a new design of your choosing.

This asymmetrical triangle shawl is designed to provide the maker agency, choice, and variation - you can use any yarn, any size, any color scheme. When worn, it does not need to be worn as a shawl - it can be worn as a scarf. This triangle shape is uniquely designed to create a curved neckline that wears
beautifully. The cotton yarn I chose creates a light and airy garment. For tips on styling, visit this site:

The photographed example is in a color gradient yarn, Hobbii Twister (Sport), in color Déjà Vu #47, needle size 4. This yarn is a cotton/acrylic mix, 250g, 1093 yards. I used about 200g for this project.
