The Catherine cape is inspired by the symbol of the Triple Goddess, a symbol of timeless beauty and profound wisdom. It tells the story of the Triple Goddess - the Virgin, the Mother and the Crone - and her journey through the seasons of life. It is a pattern as old as time itself, a rhythm that resonates deeply with the heartbeat of the earth and the souls of its inhabitants, a fascinating symbol of feminine power and spiritual growth.

This cape is a pattern from the Catherine bundle, along with the sweater and balaclava. You can find all the patterns here on my Ravelry page Micca-witchcraft. Catherine in turn is part of MICCA, a collection that pays tribute to the many victims of witchcraft. In Europe alone, more than 100,000 alleged witches were burned at the stake. Catherine was one of the victims. Along with five other women, she was burned on a hill in Ellezelles, a small village in Hainaut, Belgium, on 26 October 1610.

You knit the cape from bottom to top in the round using 2 rustic colours of DROPS Air:
06 anthracite 100 g
04 medium grey 50 g

You can easily make a poncho from the pattern by knitting more rows at the bottom before decreasing. Then, of course, you’ll need an extra ball of anthracite. The triple moon pattern is knitted in using the fair isle technique.
