A perfect combination of simple knitting and a great fit, with pretty cabled cuffs.  Easy ribbing gently hugs the curves of your hands and wrists, while a fresh take on the thumbhole creates a comfortable, better fitting opening.  Delicate cables and the halo of Alpaca evoke spring’s first pussy willow buds, also known as “catkins”. SIZING
Instructions are provided for women’s small, medium, and large sizes. The stretchiness of the ribbing adjusts to fit really well…great for knitting gifts for people whose hand size you might not be able to measure exactly.

YARN NOTE
The suggested yarns contain alpaca which has a lovely halo and is especially warm and soft, but this pattern will work well with any yarn that knits to the gauge specified.

GAUGE
For K2, P2 ribbing pattern, the gauge should be 24 sts = 4” /10 cm, slightly stretched. If substituting yarn, look for one with a gauge of 20 sts = 4” / 10 cm in stockinette.

STITCH PATTERN
Mitts are worked in the round in K2, P2 ribbing throughout, except for those rounds on cuffs and fingertips which have cables. Cables are worked over 2 stitches and don’t require a cable needle.

SKILLS USED
Long tail cast on, cable cast on, knit and purl in the round.
