Catnip Sunflower
You say, “Catnip sunflowers?! Really?!”
And I say, “It’s like a catnip mouse but so much prettier!”
They’re also very customizable, so you can make them in any color, easily change the petal and stem size, and embellish them to your heart’s content. They work up in about half an hour once you learn the pattern, and you can make a LOT of them out of one skein each of the three yarn colors. I prefer cotton yarn for items pets and babies may chew on, and this pattern is written for cotton. If you use a squishy yarn like acrylic, your sunflower will come out smaller.
You say, “What if I want to use this as a flower applique or brooch?”
And I say, “Awesome! I’ll run through how to close the back at the end of the pattern.”
